GIFC Info Update
This has been the hardest stage of the season for our team with some poor results and below par performances. Understandably confidence levels have dropped. Things must be put into perspective however. The team is not 9 months old yet and we have the youngest squad at our level without a doubt. We also have a management team who are new to this so errors in judgement have been too many. We have seen squad members come and go so this has always been a work in progress. This is in no way a list of excuses but a small way of explaining where we are at as a club.

If this was to be looked upon as a social experiment then the support, following and interest we have created has been nothing short of phenomenal. We are known of worldwide and have been encouraged by such support. We also have a solid base of support, mainly through social and alternative media at home here in Glasgow. The recent poor form is hard to take but please be in no doubt plans are already in place to improve our weaker areas both on and off the park.

Our management team has decided to stay the course and will be doubly eager to start next season with renewed passion and drive. We will look to bring in people we can trust after certain members of the team/Coaching staff left without so much as a goodbye. We promise the players that won’t be the case ever again.

Next season will see us wear the Ballbhoys Podcast logo on our new home kit. To clear up any misunderstanding this is not a sponsorship but a recognition of our friends at the Ballbhoys Pod. Something unique in amateur football. The team will also be well uniformed in our Matchday tracksuits and bags along with training kit which the players and club done brilliantly well to fund themselves for the most part.

On the footballing side we have 3 league fixtures remaining. These are against arguably the best 3 teams in the league so there’s an opportunity for the players to regain some pride after our recent difficulties. The hard work and effort the squad have put in since our beginning has been phenomenal. With our first season under our belt and many, many lessons learned we truly feel if we keep the nucleus of the squad together we can approach next year with confidence. Patience and understanding will be needed but there’s no question the hard work and effort will be there.

We hope we can continue to enjoy the tremendous support and encouragement we have received thus far.
